3 Gauge Aluminum Sheet
Aluminum sheet thickness mainly depends on the production equipment. The aluminum plate between 0.2-6.0mm is called ordinary aluminum plate while the aluminum plate above 8mm can become thick aluminum plate. Among them, the aluminum plate within 6mm thickness can be directly cast and rolled through the finishing rolling mill. Thick aluminum plates usually require hot rolling equipment to produce.
The thickness of the aluminum plate is linked to the price. Generally, the price of the aluminum plate with a thickness of 0.8-6.0mm is the lowest, and the price of the thicker or thinner aluminum plate like aluminium sheet 0.5 mm will be slightly higher than this, mainly because the thinner one needs more times of rolling mill processing, while the thicker one needs hot rolling mill.
Generally, the thickness tolerance of the aluminum plate produced by the finishing mill is usually plus or minus 0.02mm or less, while the thickness tolerance of the medium-thick aluminum plate produced by the hot rolling equipment is relatively large, and it is generally controlled around 0.1mm.
The common aluminum sheet thickness is 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 mm. Generally, aluminum plates for indoor ceiling decoration are generally thinner, and the general thickness is 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 1.0 and 1.2 mm.
Because the external curtain wall has to resist external strong wind, sun exposure, and external corrosion, in order to ensure its rigidity and durability, thicker aluminum plates are generally used, and the most commonly used ones are 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm. Some key projects will use thicker 3.5mm,4mm or 5mm aluminum plates to ensure the service life and quality of the project.
3003 aluminum plate is a widely used aluminum alloy. Haomei 3003 aluminum sheet can be as thin as 3 gauge aluminum sheet. We generally use laser thickness online measuring equipment to measure the thickness of 3003 aluminum plate in the production process, which can be accurate to within 0.01mm. For ordinary measurement, a digital display micrometer can be used to measure the thickness of the 3003 aluminum plate, and it can also be accurate to around 0.02 mm.
The thicker the thickness of the 3003 aluminum plate, the heavier the weight under the same square. For applications that are not too strict in thickness requirements, it is appropriate to choose 3003 aluminum sheets with lower tolerances to reduce raw material costs. We generally recommend that the thickness tolerances be 3-5 wires to control the thickness of aluminum sheets, which can not only reduce production costs, but also has table quality.
